BOUDOIR FAQs

What kind of outfits should I bring?

We recommend you bring 4 to 5 outfits. Mix up your styles and colors with blacks, reds, and off-whites. Oversized tees or men's button downs as well as two piece sets with a gown always look sexy in photographs.

 

What about accessories?

Bring along stockings, jewelry, shoes and every one of your partners favorite shirts or hoodies. Your imagination is your only limit as we cater your boudoir session to your unique needs.

 

What attire doesn't photography well?

Fit is the absolute most important thing when it comes to any garment. When it comes to lingerie, finding a piece that is well structured is key. We recommend against items that flair away from the body, such as "babydolls", because these tend to make most women look wider through their midsections than they actually are.

 

I’m a plus size, what do I wear?

We would recommend one pieces rather that a 2 piece. Perhaps a body suit or even a basque bodice. Oversize shirts look amazing as well as dressing gowns. Don’t worry we have lots of material to hide the bits us women don’t want to be on show.

 

Do I wash my hair before coming in?

It is always best to have a day or two without washing your hair as this helps style it better. Try not to straighten it before you come in as it’s harder to curl. Keep any bands loose in your hair if it is tied back when you arrive.

 

Should I get my hair & make up done for my boudoir photography session?

We totally recommend doing this! We want you to feel comfortable, and beautiful, and very you! But, this is a special occasion and we're guessing you don’t get photos like this taken very often. You are worth it and we think it is a worthy investment that will last longer than just that day. It will be in your photos forever! And if it helps make you feel that much more confident in front of my camera, yes girl, do it! We are happy to make recommendations of amazing hair & make up artist if you need a recommendation.

 

How long does it take all in?

Your shoot typically lasts an hour, so it's best to allocate a total of 2 hours the entire experience.

 

Will my images appear on Social Media?

We only use images that people have given us permission to use. We appreciate that ladies might have certain jobs that would put them in a vulnerable position if we posted their images. So, we always ask first.

 

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, no problem. However, your friend will have to wait quietly whilst we are doing your photo-shoot as the best results are always with a one to one environment. If you and your friend both wanted individual photoshoots this can also be arranged. It can be great fun before a wee night out!

 

I don't have a perfect body, will I still look good?

I have been photographing women for 10 years and have learned a lot about posing and bodies and beauty and "sexiness" if you will. I am a firm believer in that EVERY woman is beautiful and has something special and unique about her. My job is bringing that out and helping you connect with those parts of yourself. With proper posing, light, professional hair and makeup and well-planned wardrobe every woman looks her best...

 

Is there an age limit for boudoir photography?

We have had the pleasure of photographing women of all ages during our boudoir sessions! From soon-to-be brides in their 20s to women celebrating significant wedding anniversaries, each session is unique and special. There’s no ideal age for these experiences; you are beautiful and deserving in every season of life, no matter how many candles on your cake!

 

Do you “Photoshop” your boudoir images?

It’s amusing how “Photoshop” has shifted from a noun to a verb, often used jokingly. Phrases like “You can Photoshop that out, right?” reveal our insecurities. As your photographer, we aim to capture your natural beauty and highlight what you love about yourself. If you have any last-minute concerns, like a breakout, don’t worry—I’ve got you covered!

 

Do you shoot nude images?

You have complete control over what you choose to reveal during your session. But we've seen it all, and we're here to support you every step of the way! Remember, your body is beautiful just the way it is. Boudoir is about you. If you feel your most sensual is a big, cozy sweater and some thick wooly socks, that's your look, you're going to rock it, and your boudoir session will be just as intimate as someone who is all about being as nude as the day they were born. You define your comfort level.

 

Will you tell me what to do/how to pose?

Don't stress about how to pose or find your best angles—we've got your back! Our team will direct you the whole time and you exactly what to do. You'll never be left hanging, and we promise it'll be a fun experience. Let's make sure you look awesome your photos!

 

What exactly IS boudoir, anyway?

Can I drink alcohol before the photo shoot?

It's best to skip the alcohol before your photo shoot. You want to feel comfy and stable during the session, and drinking can throw that off. It might mess with your mood and coordination, which isn’t great for getting those perfect shots. Staying sober will help you be more relaxed and natural in front of the camera, leading to some awesome, genuine photos that really show who you are!
